Have a great trip. Looks like a good one. I have fond memories going as a young teenager and again during grad school.

Many blessings to you and your family.

Thank you, this is what Christians need to hear. The Bible teaches Christians not to be partakers in the "world culture." That is not to say we should take separation from the world so far that we have no idea how to establish friendship with people outside our Christian circle. When we lament the evils of culture, consider that unsaved people are without the guidance of the Holy Spirit. If we think we know better, why not replace pride with action and lead them to Christ?

Pastor, I read 33 Men (on Kindle) after you mentioed it in a sermon sometime back. Very interesting with many details that never hit the news media. That NASA could predict the men's reactions at various points of isolation was fascinating to me. Also reavealig of problems they have encountered with space isolation. But, more to the point, I kept thinking of how those conditions would have affected me.
I just finished reading The First FAmily: Abigail and John Adams. Truly interesting insights into their lives and the events of their time in history taken from their letters to each other and to friends and family. I learned quite a bit. There were many quotes from their letters that included scripture verses although it was never mentioned that those sentences or phrases were from the Bible. I think each of them knew exactly where they came from, but I wondered if the author of the book even had a clue. Perhaps he did but didn't want to make mention of the Bible in his book.

Thanks for sharing your favorites. I plan on picking up a few. I also enjoyed Decision Points.
My favorite "autobiography" is Ronald Regan: A Life in Letters. He was a prolific letter writer. The Regan Diaries was very good as well. The book I read recently that I could not put down was My Father, My Hero by Rita Cosby. It is a biography of her father who participated in the Polish resistance. I really enjoyed it, and read it using a kindle app.

This may sound sort of kitsch. But I watched that game, and when the President walked out there with his head held high, and threw a strike right down the middle of the plate, I just knew that we had a strong and decent man at the helm. A man with guts; and that he was going to do his level best to shepherd this Nation. It meant a great deal coming just a few days after the attacks. I felt like we were going to be ok.

I agree with your point. Sometimes we look at our programs as our duty and forget how important our relationship with the Lord is. I speak by experience.
